Abril Verde, mês dedicado à  saúde e segurança no trabalho

No Brasil são registrados, em média, 700 mil acidentes de trabalho ao ano, segundo dados da Previdência Social. Para mobilizar a sociedade sobre a importância da prevenção, o Ministério Público do Trabalho (MPT) adere ao movimento Abril Verde, dedicado a ações de melhorias das condições de saúde e segurança no trabalho.
Entre as atividades previstas para o período em Pernambuco, está a exposição fotográfica “Trabalhadores”, na Biblioteca Central na Universidade Católica de Pernambuco (Unicap), entre 3 a 13 de Abril, e no Fórum Advogado José Barbosa de Araújo, entre os dias 18 de abril e 4 de maio. Além disso, está previsto o lançamento local do Observatório de Saúde e Segurança no Trabalho, no dia 25 deste mês.
Também serão desenvolvidas ações internas, como o lançamento do programa interno de exames periódicos e uma seção destinada aos terceirizados da instituição, que são mais expostos a riscos no dia-a-dia de trabalho, devido ao serviço pesado e contato com químicos. Ainda dentro da programação do Abril Verde, o edifício da sede do MPT será iluminado em verde os documentos oficiais expedidos no período terão uma menção ao movimento.

Subnotificação
Os números oficiais de acidentes de trabalho no Brasil são alarmantes. Mas, na prática, são ainda piores. Isso porque os dados do INSS não incluem os empregados que estão na informalidade. Segunda a legislação brasileira, os empregadores têm obrigação de comunicar acidentes à Previdência Social, mas também ao Ministério da Saúde. A notificação deve ser feita até o primeiro dia útil seguinte ao da ocorrência do acidente ou de doença ocupacional e, em caso de morte, de imediato, sob pena de multa.

Os shoppings pernambucanos e a Apesce apoiam a campanha, tanto com a iluminação da fachada em verde como a divulgação de informações através dos seus sites e redes sociais.

Abril Verde

É no mês de abril que lembra o Dia Mundial da Saúde (7) e Dia Mundial em Memória às Vítimas de Acidentes do Trabalho (28). O movimento Abril Verde reúne diversas entidades relacionadas à saúde e ao mundo do trabalho e tem por objetivo pautar a temática de segurança e saúde do trabalhador brasileiro.

O dia 28 de abril também foi escolhido como data Mundial da Segurança e Saúde no Trabalho pela Organização Internacional do Trabalho (OIT), em 2003, como forma de lembrar os 78 trabalhadores mortos após explosão em uma mina no estado norte-americano da Virginia, em 28 de abril de 1969. No Brasil, a Lei 11.121/05 instituiu que nesse dia seja celebrado o Dia Nacional em Memória das Vítimas de Acidentes e Doenças do Trabalho. Em Pernambuco, a lei estadual 15.806, de 16 de maio de 2016, institui o Dia Estadual em Memória às Vítimas de Acidentes do Trabalho A ação faz parte das atividades da Coordenadoria Nacional de Defesa do Meio Ambiente de Trabalho (Codemat) do MPT.
