Shopping Recife homenageia centenário de Abelardo da Hora com exposição fotográfica

Palco de exaltação da cultura recifense, o Shopping Recife tem aproximado as artes do seu público ao longo dos anos, especialmente com a presença de obras espalhadas pelo equipamento. Essa vocação de galeria nasce junto à sua fundação, em 1980, com a presença das obras “Mulher Reclinada” e “Mulher Reclinada Ajeitando os Cabelos” de Abelardo da Hora nos seus corredores. E é em homenagem ao artista pernambucano, que faria 100 anos no dia 31 de julho, que o mall promove a exposição fotográfica digital “Centenário Abelardo da Hora”, a partir desta quinta-feira (25).

Com imagens do fotógrafo Bruno Lima, cuja verve artística tem como principal ingrediente o elemento urbano da Capital pernambucana, a mostra reúne 30 fotografias de obras icônicas do artista plástico espalhadas no Recife, endossando a presença da arte na cidade. Um elo entre o legado artístico de Abelardo e o olhar contemporâneo de Bruno, permitindo que os visitantes apreciem as criações em uma nova perspectiva. O público poderá conferir a mostra por meio de telas digitais em dois espaços expositivos do shopping, próximos às lojas Schutz e Lucinha Cascão.

Escultor, desenhista, gravador, ceramista e professor, Abelardo da Hora segue como uma figura ilustre entre os nomes das artes plásticas do Estado. Suas esculturas, muitas das quais adornam espaços públicos da cidade, são símbolos de resistência e beleza, representando figuras humanas em situações de trabalho e sofrimento, mas também de esperança e força. Entre suas obras mais emblemáticas no Recife está o “Monumento ao Frevo”, uma homenagem vibrante à cultura popular pernambucana. Para além de artista, desempenhou atividade política crucial em defesa dos artistas plásticos locais, ampliando o campo de trabalho artístico ao desenvolver em 1961 a Lei Municipal de Obras de Arte em Edificações (Lei nº 14.239) que tornou obrigatório aos edifícios e praças públicas com área igual ou superior a 1.000 m² conter em lugar de destaque uma obra de arte original.

A presença das obras de Abelardo da Hora no mall compõem a memória de gerações de clientes, contribuindo para a formação e repertório cultural, e criando uma ponte entre o cotidiano e o sublime. O centenário do artista é uma dessas oportunidades ímpares de celebrar a sua importância para as artes visuais e para a cultura de Pernambuco e de sua gente”, registra a gerente de Marketing do Shopping Recife, Mariuche Ismerim.
