Em dia dedicado a florestas e biodiversidade, experiência de regeneração ambiental no Recife será apresentada nesta terça-feira (18) na COP30

Uma experiência de regeneração ambiental no Recife compõe a programação oficial da COP30 nesta terça-feira (18), em um dia dedicado a discutir as florestas, biodiversidade e soluções climáticas inclusivas.

Em painel sobre o Projeto de Revitalização de Áreas Verdes (PRAV), o Grupo JCPM apresentará os resultados do reflorestamento de 2,53 hectares, no entorno do shopping RioMar Recife, em uma área antes ocupada por um aterro industrial, na Bacia do Pina, na Zona Sul da capital pernambucana.  

Iniciado em 2012, o PRAV inclui o plantio de 686 mudas de espécies nativas da Mata Atlântica, como ipês, pau-brasil, ingá e aroeira.

Integrado ao Parque dos Manguezais, um dos maiores mangues urbanos no país, atualmente a área verde revitalizada pela iniciativa privada conta com 75% de cobertura vegetal arbórea e arbustiva, com árvores de até 15 metros de altura, e taxa média de sequestro de carbono de 1,32 t/ha/ano.

Com o tema “Regeneração: O Compromisso do Nosso Tempo”, a apresentação ocorre às 10h, na Zona Azul, no espaço da ONG britânica Responding to Climate Change (RTCC), entidade reconhecida pela ONU por promover boas práticas globais em sustentabilidade.

O painel será conduzido pela gerente de Sustentabilidade do Grupo JCPM, Thayara Paschoal. “A regeneração ambiental deve se tornar o eixo transversal do planejamento urbano. Com a iniciativa no Recife buscamos demonstra como setor privado pode contribuir de forma efetiva para a recuperação de espaços naturais, com ganhos concretos para a regulação climática, a proteção da biodiversidade e o bem-estar social”, antecipa a gestora.

Comércio Sustentável

A agenda do Grupo JCPM na COP30 segue na quarta-feira (19), com participação em painel sobre Comércio Sustentável, junto com a Abrasce (Associação Brasileira de Shoppings), quando serão compartilhadas experiências de descarbonização das operações, fortalecimento de cadeias de suprimentos resilientes ao clima, financiamento da inovação verde e engajamento dos consumidores em escolhas mais sustentáveis.

]Na ocasião, serão apresentadas práticas dos shoppings do Grupo JCPM, como o uso de 100% de energia de fontes renováveis certificadas (I-REC) e o encaminhamento de 70% dos resíduos recicláveis para cooperativas locais.

Para Lucia Pontes, diretora de Desenvolvimento Social do Grupo JCPM, a presença da empresa na COP30 reforça o papel estratégico do setor privado na construção de cidades mais sustentáveis. “A sustentabilidade está no centro dos nossos valores corporativos. Buscamos ampliar o diálogo sobre o compromisso empresarial, com atuações que aliem desenvolvido econômico, inclusão social e preservação ambiental”, afirma.
